About

I am 35 years old and have been happily married for 13 years. I am infertile but I have been pregnant six times. Six pregnancies, achieved with medical intervention and without. Six miscarriages.

I am infertile due to Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS).

I have recurrent miscarriages due to a genetic blood clotting disorder. Prothrombin G20210A mutation to be exact. Also known as Factor II.

I don’t often quote the Dixie Chicks, but here we are:

It felt like a given
Something a woman’s born to do
A natural ambition
To see a reflection of me and you

And I’d feel so guilty
If that was a gift I couldn’t give
And could you be happy
If life wasn’t how we pictured it

It’s so hard when it doesn’t come easy
It’s so hard when it doesn’t come fast

-So Hard, The Dixie Chicks

  1. I just wrote an ebook called “Shooting Blanks: a husbands perspective on missing the mark and dealing with infertility” and was wondering if you would be interested in reviewing it for your blog or if you would like me to write a guest post. Either way I’d be happy to send you a free copy to read.

    Thanks!

  2. Hi there,

I am writing on behalf of Create Health at createhealth(dot)org,
and am very intereested in posting a guest article on your site, with a
link at the end back to their site. This would not be overtly and
continually linked back to Create Health but be a relevant post to your
site, providing advice and support to those in your audience struggling
    with infertility.

If you could get back to me concerning this enquiry at
    rhiannon@creare.co.uk that would be perfect.

    Thanks

    Rhiannon

  3. I just wanted to say thankyou for being so honest about your infertility. You’ve really helped me. I was diagnosed with PCOS this year (after suffering with it for 4 years undiagnosed) and I’m only 17. Being so young and while trying to tell naive & peers sheltered with anything to do with sex and fertility I just wanted to say a massive thankyou for writing the ‘Dear Fertile People’ posts I’ve found them to be helpful as I negotiate dealing with fertile people & peers responses. I’m also finding comfort in knowing I’m not alone in suffering with infertility.
